Job Description




Position Summary
Cambrian College\xe2\x80\x99s Financial Services requires an Accounts Receivable Officer, on a leave replacement basis, beginning January 8, 2024 until May 2024.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain/oversee the accurate and timely processing of Accounts Receivable transactions to ensure the accuracy of all accounts receivable records, including all sponsored student receivables, and all non-student receivables.
  • Oversee and control the timely collection and control of cash and accounts receivable, oversee the issuance of accounts receivable invoicing and the assessment of fees on sponsored student accounts for the College. Review and recommend bad debt write-offs and maintain Accounts Receivable reconciliations and corrections.
  • Provide support and analysis as required to the Cambrian Foundation including all foundation deposits.
  • Review all aging reports, develops and implements collection strategies and interacts with Enrollment Centre staff, sponsoring agencies, external businesses and collection agencies.
  • Enter/upload EFT/web payments and balance daily vendor Banner finance system journal entries and balances multiple control accounts.
  • Enter sponsored invoicing into WSIB/Telus portal, Vale portal and respond to sponsoring agent requests.

Qualifications
Required:
  • Three-year postsecondary diploma or degree in Accounting or an equivalent field. (A copy of educational documents must be submitted with application *** education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application).
  • Two years of related work experience working with a computerized accounts receivable accounting system.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to reconcile and problem solve complex accounts.
  • Self-directed individual with the ability to balance multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
  • Effective communication skills, good judgment, and the ability to problem solve.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Commitment to working within a team environment.

Additional Assets/Preferred:
  • Experience working within the College system.
  • Experience with Banner Financial Information System.
