The Policy Analyst will research and analyze policies, develop new strategies for programs and OLHBI. The Policy Analyst will draft policy documents, briefing notes, conducting research, analyze data, and evaluate existing program policies to ensure they are effective. They collaborate with stakeholders to identify needs and advocate for initiatives, preparing strategic and operational plans to guide an organization's long-term goals.
Job Duties:
Evaluate the effectiveness of the policies by reviewing with program managers, human resources and Senior Administration.
Evaluate existing policies to identify changes and updates required; assisting with developing new policies as needed and directed.
Develop strategic proposal documentation of the plans of the Onion Lake health Board Inc.
Determine areas of research to increase knowledge in a particular field.
Identify sources of funding, prepare research proposals and submit funding applications.
Collect, record and analyze surveys and data.
Interpret data analysis results and draw inferences and conclusions.
Present research results to Senior Administration, Health Board Inc, Chief & Council.
Use research results to write reports, papers and reviews and present findings in journals and conferences.
Collaborate with research teams, industry colleagues and government agencies.
Job Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Governance, Political Science, Economics, Finance or related program.
Understanding & knowledge of the Treaty 6 and First Nations Governance, History and Culture.
Exceptional written proposal writing.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Experience formulating objectives, standards, policy and procedures.
Organization and time management: Handle multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Knowledge of negotiation and administration of contracts and legal documents.
Familiar with the accreditation process, labour laws and regulations.
Knowledge of the principles, procedures and methods used in funding for non-profit organizations.
oValid Class 5 Drivers License; Clear Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Check.
