Overview:
We are currently seeking an collaborative individual to join our team as an Policy Analyst. In this role you will be responsible for assisting in research and analysis to develop policy recommendations relating to licence applications and energy matters.   • Accountable for managing and processing certain aspects of licence application cases and providing decision support to team members assigned to the application
  • Provide briefing notes and advice to Commissioners (or delegate) and team members regarding applications, proposals, business cases, and associated issues
  • Review and assess potential non-compliance by regulated entities identified through customer complaints, industry enquiries, applications or other means
  • Understand, interpret and explain OEB rules, regulations and procedures to assist staff, senior management, regulated entities and stakeholders
  • Support the development of policies related to licence applications
  • Support the implementation of new or improved licence or compliance procedures or processes
  • Maintain industry knowledge by reviewing trends and important regulatory issues
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in Business or Public Administration or related field
  • 1 year experience working with consumers, customers or clients and conducting research and analysis
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical and problem solving skills to evaluate technical information, identify and analyze issues, and develop recommendations
  • Superior interpersonal skills experience in issues management, mediation or facilitation is preferred
