Job Summary
Work directly with businesses and organizations in regional and Indigenous communities on an exciting new grant program

The Ministry of Jobs, Economic Development and Innovation (JEDI) manages government services that help support and maintain the strong and diverse economy that British Columbians need for long-term prosperity. It supports the growth of BC\xe2\x80\x99s tech sector, champions innovation across the economy, nurtures small businesses, supports economic development throughout the province, and promotes BC internationally as a preferred place to invest and do business.

The Major Investments Office (MIO) operates within the Investment division and engages with private sector proponents that seek to advance significant investments in British Columbia. The branch has two core functions: major investment opportunity assessment, and investment advisory.
The BC Manufacturing Jobs Fund (MJF) team operates within Small Business Economic Development division, implementing a new, large-scale grant funding program to support for-profit manufacturing capital projects in rural, regional and Indigenous communities as part of the Forestry Worker and Community Support suite of initiatives.

Job Requirements:
Education and Experience

  • University degree in Commerce/Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field and at least three (3) years of related experience.
    • Preference given to candidates with a Professional Accounting designation; Or a relevant professional qualification.
  • Experience creating financial models (including forecasting and analysis) and/or developing and analysing corporate financial statements.
  • Experience in leading complex projects that have multiple project delivery components.
  • Experience in concisely and persuasively writing a range of documents/content to advice senior leadership on financial decisions (e.g., Briefing Notes, Decision Notes.)
    • Preference given to those with Cabinet Submission and/or Treasury Board Submission experience
  • Experience in establishing effective working relationships with rural, remote, or Indigenous communities and/or federal and local government officials or Senior Executives in the private sector.
    • Preference given to candidates with demonstrated experience presenting complex financial/economic information to higher level executives.
