The Opportunity:

12-month work term: May 2024 \xe2\x80\x93 May 2025

16-month work term (preferred): May 2024 \xe2\x80\x93 August 2025

How You Will Contribute:

The New Product Introduction team within Ciena bridges the gap between R&D and low-cost manufacturing. As a Pluggable Modem Test Engineer, you will work under the supervision of senior engineers on test development and support for latest and future generation of products. You will have an opportunity to gain experience in multiple disciplines between hardware and software. You will also get a chance to collaborate with many teams within Ciena and contract manufacturers around the world.

You will contribute by\xe2\x80\xa6:

• Debugging and developing test code.
• Validate and support local test stations within a lab environment.
• Perform data analysis to drive factory support and help target key issues.
• Make lives easier through the power of automation!

The Must Haves:

• Working towards completion of a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s or Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Physics or Computer Science.
• Foundational knowledge of optics and/or electronics.
• Demonstrated proficiency with programming in any language.

Assets:

• Experience in a lab environment using optical measurement instrumentation such as optical power meter, optical spectrum analyzer, optical attenuators, etc.
• Version control (Git, Subversion, etc.)
• Prior automation experience
