AEROSPACE ENGINEER CO-OP STUDENT - AVIONICS

Please note: Students who apply must be committed to work for 16 months (May 2024-August 2025) and willing to be on site in Kelowna, BC.

Privately owned and operated, KF Aerospace is an industry leading Aviation Company and the largest Commercial AMO in Canada. We operate two full service MRO facilities in Kelowna, BC and Hamilton, ON. Our facilities support Boeing 727, 737, 757, 767, Airbus 300,310,319/320/321, Bombardier Dash8, Q400, Convair 580, DC10, MD80, Embraer, Buffalo, Twin Otter and other aircraft. We complete over 300 total aircraft projects annually for customers like WestJet, Canadian North, Swoop, Sunwing, Air Transat, DND, and other key Canadian and US carriers. In addition to maintenance checks, we offer major modifications, cargo door installations, AC stretches and conversions. We provide fleet and customer support on location, as well as out-base coverage.

The Engineering Department is a Transport Canada Design Approval Organization that supports many internal and external modification and repair design requests by creating the appropriate data as necessary.

JOB OVERVIEW

As a growing company, KF Aerospace is looking for an Aerospace Engineer Co-op student - Avionics.

The qualified individual will assist with avionics design and integration on a wide variety of aircraft type in compliance with the appropriate regulations. The successful candidate will prepare avionics and electrical drawings and analysis and will liaise with appropriate departments and organizations for resolution of issues pertaining to design data interpretation and design deviations.

REQUIREMENTS

• Working towards a University Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Ability to commit to 16-month term (May 2024-August 2025)
• Due to security clearance requirements, must be Canadian citizen or PR status

Our ideal candidate should have a positive attitude and strong work ethic, and is the type of individual who uses his or her highly developed organizational skills and attention to detail when taking the initiative on projects. They are able to work effectively both alone, or as part of a team. Candidates also need to possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have basic computer skills. CAD experience is considered an asset.
