Production Paint Stripping (PPS) is a leading provider of paint stripping and metal cleaning services, having serviced the automotive and aerospace industries of southern Ontario for 30 years, with facilities in Ontario, Canada and within the United States.
We are looking for a strategic, driven, and strong people leader to join our team as a Plant Manager for our 24-hour operation facility in
Etobicoke, ON
. Please note this is a contract position.
Job Summary
The Plant Manager's
main responsibilities include:
Monitoring and exceeding financial goals,
Maximizing operational capacity,
Maintaining excellent quality standards and customer service,
Building and leading the supervisory team, and
Driving continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Essential Functions
Oversee and direct all daily plant operations to ensure efficiency and productivity.
Drive MPW/PPS' safety culture and compliance objectives and incident reporting according to corporate requirements.
Maintain strong daily communications with all team members, managers, and customers.
Enforce health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations to be followed at the Plant-level.
Work with the Human Resources Manager in maintaining plant-level HR functions and initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities
This position is responsible for manpower, management ofequipment, and maintaining customer relations within set geographic locations.
Travel among the Canadian and US PPS Plants may be required, time to time.
Must uphold the Company's values and lead by example.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
High school diploma is acceptable, along with 5+ years of automotive or manufacturing experience in progressive roles is required.
5+ years of management-related experience, preferred.
Post-secondary education in operations management, engineering, business, or a related field is preferred.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to trouble shoot and resolve various problems (equipment, personnel, administrative).
Proven experience in guiding and mentoring direct reports, shaping strong leadership teams, and promoting company culture among all staff.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency with MS Office applications.
