Plant Maintenance Person

We are looking to fill a plant maintenance and repair position. This role performs a variety of tasks including preventive and breakdown maintenance, new equipment installations, and facilities maintenance. An ideal candidate will have experience working with rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and fabrication.

Responsibilities and skills include but not limited to

:

Work with other staff to complete planning and repairs of factory equipment. Ability to work on tasks in a self-directed manner. Build basic replacement parts as required (basic fabrication skills required). Conduct preventive maintenance tasks and routine inspections of machines and equipment. Report results of equipment inspections, including potential problems involving any machinery. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical assembly issues with plant equipment. Attend machine breakdowns with a strong sense of urgency. Repair plant equipment, pumps, motors, gear boxes, etc. Assist with the installation of new equipment. Assist with facilities, including building maintenance, plumbing, basic electrical, welding, etc. Adhere to all safe working regulations and procedures (lock-out, confined spaces, fall protection, etc.) Use of various hand and power tools, measuring devices, and diagnostic tools Maintain a tidy working space, conducting housekeeping as necessary. Qualifications/Education Required:

At least 1 year of work experience performing service-related functions on equipment (plant, manufacturing, farming, cars, heavy equipment). Experience fabricating, welding, and machining an asset. High School Diploma required; some post-secondary would be considered an asset. Good mechanical aptitude demonstrated by a track record of employment and/or volunteer work experience in a mechanical field. Ability to lift 50lbs Class 5 Drivers License Willingness to learn.

Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
