Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Plant Layout Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Duties

Working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD systems utilized for automotive plant layouts. Interact with process teams and equipment suppliers to develop and support facilities and equipment layouts in 2D and 3D. Integration of CAD models from suppliers, building construction, and building and facilities engineering. Provide recommendations on material flow and floor plan optimization. Management of CAD files, including formatting, storage, access, BIM360, and revision management. Interference analysis (including equipment, building, process flows, etc.) Assessing and enforcing client standards for layout design, building, and facilities infrastructure. Development of installation drawing packages. Review/support for installation planning and statements of work. Specific knowledge and working experience with AutoCAD-2D/3D & NX, and Autodesk Vault - are required.

Experience

Must have a university degree or college certificate in Mechanical Engineering and/or relevant experience is an asset with at least 2 years experience. A thorough understanding of CAD X-refs is required. An understanding of manufacturing and assembly practices and procedures is an asset. Familiarity with automotive plant drawing specifications is an asset. A thorough understanding of blueprint reading and industry-standard drafting practices is required. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical information effectively.
