:Wood is currently accepting applications for Civil/Structural Engineers, in anticipation of growing our industrial Civil/Structural Engineering team, in New Brunswick. Wood is actively engaged in some of the most exciting and complexed projects within the region, which are expected to span over multiple years. Therefore, Wood will need additional support to meet upcoming client demands.In our recruitment and hiring process at Wood Canada Ltd. (incl.   • Provide structural design and technical support including calculations, design, design checks, and design drawing reviews from conceptual level to detailed design for large industrial operating facilities or power transmission infrastructure
  • Analyze designs for efficiency of construction, use of materials, functionality, and practicality of design
  • Review, check and approve construction and shop drawings
  • Monitor changes and revisions to designs and assess the impact on cost and scheduling
  • Plan and oversee various construction efforts
  • Provide technical assistance to site during construction phase
  • Conduct regular site inspections, to ensure design intent is met and ensure that all rules, regulations, and guidelines are explicitly followed
  • Develop or alter standard project specifications to meet project specific design criteria
  • Monitor and guide design/drafting tasks and oversee the internal checking required on all project drawings
  • Prepare and manage design specifications, RFQ for structural packages and issue recommendations for awards
  • Manage structural packages awarded to fabricators including review and approval of shop drawings
  • Interfacing with Piping, Plant Layout, Process, Civil, Structural, Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines
  • Coordinate and work with project team members in Canada and other Wood execution offices across the globe
  • Lead the technical proposal development effort on behalf of the structural engineering team
Qualifications:
  • University graduation, majoring in electrical engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Canada
  • Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal
  • 15+ years relevant experience preferable
  • Local codes and standards
  • Experience with industrial, refinery and utility facilities would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of STAAD Pro structural analysis, RISA 3D, SAP 2000, and S-Concrete
