Position Overview:
The
Plant Controller
plays a critical role in ensuring that all necessary components and equipment for drilling operations are available, properly tracked, and efficiently managed. This position involves operational planning, inventory control, equipment reconciliation, and collaboration with engineering and logistics teams to support drilling productivity across Canada.
This role requires strong organizational skills, a focus on safety and quality, and the ability to work in both workshop and underground environments.
Key Responsibilities
Verify that all components needed for drilling operations are available and in optimal condition.
Prepare and maintain project and cutter forecasts, ensuring alignment with operational schedules.
Perform plant and equipment reconciliations at project sites.
Maintain accurate records of components such as reamers, rods, stabilizers, tricones, and pumps.
Coordinate component shipments with engineering and logistics, ensuring timely delivery to mine sites.
Oversee work-in-progress and ensure components have passed required inspections.
Track and report operational and maintenance data using MD systems.
Support SHEQ compliance and participate in safety programs and emergency drills.
Participate in cross-departmental initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Certificate in
Administration, Industrial Engineering
, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3-4 years
of operational or plant control experience, preferably in the
mining or heavy industrial sector
.
Strong organizational, planning, and administrative skills.
Knowledge of mining equipment and drilling components is an asset.
Competent in MS Office and digital recordkeeping systems.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally; valid passport required.
Ability to work underground and in workshop environments as needed.
