We invite you to use your skills with us and contribute to something meaningful and enduring.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Piping Engineer to join our Central Engineering team in Long Harbour, NL.This is a permanent on-site position, working a 4x10\xe2\x80\x99s schedule at the Long Harbour Operations site in Long Harbour, NL.As a Piping Engineer, you will provide innovative engineering design solutions to operating and maintenance problems, technical direction to external engineering consultants & construction contractors, and guidance and mentoring to other members of the Central Engineering team. The engineer will focus on work of their own discipline.Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Prepare engineering packages (i.e. drawings, specifications, scopes of work, risk assessments and cost estimates) for operations, maintenance, and capital projects, utilizing good engineering practices and considering risk, while minimizing costs.
  • Provide technical support to the operations and maintenance teams to ensure reliable operation of equipment. Provide recommendations for safety when required under relevant Acts and Legislation.
  • Understand and can apply risk assessment and risk management processes.
  • Provide technical direction to construction contractors and assess the quality of their work in the field.
  • Effectively schedule, prioritize, and manage tasks to meet commitments with customers.
About YouEducation:
  • Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng).
Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in industrial facilities or mining sector.
  • Strong working experience with piping design, analysis, and repair of various types of equipment (pumps, storage tanks, pressure vessels, piping, etc.).
Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, planning, organizational and time management skills.
  • Familiar with utilizing software for analysis.
  • Ability to audit compliance of mechanical design codes, acts, and regulations.
  • Designs engineered solutions for mechanical projects and problems
