:Wood is recruiting a Piping Engineer to join our Engineering Team in the St. John\'s, NL office. As part of our team, your experience and skills will contribute to execution of brownfield EPC projects for our offshore energy clients.In our recruitment and hiring process at Wood Canada Ltd. We are committed to ensuring fairness and inclusivity by relying on the expertise from a team of professional recruiters for the application reviews, interviews, and qualification assessments.Responsibilities:As a member of the Piping Department your responsibilities will include:

  • Originating and checking of documentation including but not limited to drawings, specifications, design/code calculations, data sheets, SDRL\'s, and reports
  • Ensure design, analysis and specifications are in accordance with applicable codes, governing statutory regulations, Wood procedures, offshore installation specific design philosophies and meets project objectives and industry best practice
  • Performing piping stress analysis using Caesar II software
  • Ensuring project schedules and client approved budgets are managed and met
  • Preparing detailed Cost, Time & Resource estimates based on client supplied work scopes
  • Adhering to all HSSES requirements within the Piping department in accordance with Wood procedures and management systems
  • Preparing material take-off\'s, BOM\'s and RFQ\'s for piping equipment
  • Complete technical bid reviews for piping equipment purchase
  • Perform package engineering duties for piping valve purchases
Qualifications:Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
  • Engineering Degree and Professional Engineer registered (or eligible for registration) with the Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of industry piping codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, API, etc.)
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and / or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved may also be considered
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or authorized to work lawfully in Canada, without sponsorship from Wood
