e Opportunity
The Pipelayer will be responsible for the efficient installation of a variety of pipes and fittings related to civil construction including water, sanitary sewer, hydro and storm water collection systems.
Duties & Responsibilities
Work safely on a construction site and promote a safe work environment adhering to safety policies and procedures including participation in safety meetings
Work with the Foreman and other team members to ensure pipe is aligned, positioned, and installed in accordance with project specifications
Support the safe assembly and use of trench shoring systems
Ensure back fill and compaction around pipe to ensure proper positioning and support
Maintain equipment and promptly report any maintenance issues

Train other employees and maintain quality results of work
Support other crew members on daily site activities outside of job scope
Qualifications, Experience & Skillset
Experience in civil utilities including storm, sanitary sewer, water, and hydro
Experience using pipe and rotary lasers
Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications
Working knowledge of pipe grading, survey, and evaluations
Able to identify all hazards associated with various aspects of working in civil projects, as well as correctly communicate safety issues as they arise
First aid, confined space, and fall protection training is an asset
Good communications ability, able to work with variety of individuals
Must be physically fit, able to spend most or all of shift standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and working hands-on in an outdoor environment in all types of weather
Flexible with hours worked, including overtime and weekend work as needed
Willingness to learn and have a good work ethic
What we offer
Unionized base wage of $40.15/hour (wage subject to negotiation based on candidate's experience), plus 12.5% of gross earnings for vacation / statutory holidays.
