TELUS Health is looking for a Physician Assistant for several remote mining sites across Canada. This is a casual position intended to provide coverage where it\'s needed due to vacant positions, gaps in coverage or vacation leave. Coverage may range between 1 - 3 weeks at a time.

What You\'ll Do

  • Provide primary and emergency care to all patients at the remote site within the scope of the medical directives
  • Provide occupational health services, to include spirometry and audiometric testing to employees at remote site
  • Record all patient encounters and document appropriately
  • Communicate with onsite and offsite personnel to ensure appropriate patient care
  • Provide support to the onsite client as required
  • Report workplace injuries to the proper provincial bodies as required
Qualifications

What You Bring:
  • Graduate of PACCC approved PA program, or ARCPA approved program
  • Currently registered and in good standing with CAPA
  • Professional liability insurance
  • Current ACLS
  • Current ATLS or ITLSAdvanced
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Recent experience seeing undifferentiated patients in either primary, urgent or emergency care settings
  • Experience/certification in Audiometric testing
  • Experience/certification in Spirometry testing
  • Trained in Drug and Alcohol collection (urine, oral fluid, and breath alcohol)
  • Experience with Occupational Health including
  • Pre-employment medicals
  • Fitness for work
  • Occupational injury reporting and classification
  • Experience organizing/coordinating medical evacuations
