We also work with police departments and municipalities to help in keeping Canadians safe.Make a difference!Reports to: Site Supervisor or Client Services ManagerLocation: CFB Esquimalt- MP UnitUnion/Non-Union: UnionShift Types and Times: Monday - Friday; 0700-1500Wage: $21.00/hr plus RRSPPOSITION SUMMARYThe Physical Security Surveyor is responsible for arranging and conducting Physical Security Surveys for units and buildings within CFB Esquimalt AOR and completing and submitting detailed reports. This position works in direct contact with MPU(E) Support Operations and CFB Esquimalt unit representatives regarding the implementation of security postures consistent with National Defence Security Orders and Directives (NDSOD) and other Security Policies.RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducting Physical Security Surveys
  • Developing and writing detailed security reports and associated administration
  • Other security related tasks as assigned
SELECTION CRITERIA:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as person must deal with all ranks/levels of DND personnel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work as part of a team in delivering security services
  • Ability and flexibility to deal effectively and efficiently with rapidly changing situations
  • Ability to conduct research of NDSOD\xe2\x80\x99s and other publications
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Requires strong computer skills including email (Outlook), MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the internet
  • Knowledge of military writing would be an asset
  • Acceptable background can be established through direct experience in Military career, Military Police and RCMP.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and ability to obtain 404 license
  • Physically able to work in confined narrow spaces in ships and buildings (ie Climbing ladders)
  • Must be in good physical condition with no medical conditions restricting individual from walking over long distances and rough, uneven terrain in all weather conditions
  • Be in possession of and maintain Level Two security clearance and maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Willing to work evening and/or weekends to accommodate/complete Reserve/Cadet Units surveys if required.
  • Flexibility in changing tasks with no lead time.
  • Ability to perform all tasks assigned with a mindset of safety, security and serving the client.
