About The Role

We are looking for an Inside Auto Appraiser to join our growing team!

As an Inside Auto Appraiser, you will establish the market value of vehicles that are difficult to evaluate because of theft, fire or other reasons. Assess damage to vehicles that have been involved in accidents and check estimated costs of auto body and mechanical repairs by making assessments with the aid of a computer application.

What You'll Do Here

• Determine the causes and origin of damage that occurred during an accident by examining the vehicle using a software application. Claims handled will be of varying degrees of complexity depending on the incumbent's experience
• Assess and approve repair estimates for claims adjusters, by comparing the estimate to the assessment made on examination of the vehicle
• Use automated evaluation systems (on computer) to standardize repair estimates and avoid errors
• Ensure productivity and service quality, using the appraisers' standards and procedures manual and relating performance to the Claims Department's quantitative and qualitative objectives

Qualifications

What you bring to the table:

• Completion of the Automotive Technical Certification
• High School Diploma, Post-Secondary education is an asset
• Minimum of 4 years' auto body repair experience, including knowledge of estimating software (Audatex and Mitchell) or an equivalent combination of Post-Secondary education in a related industry
• Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and techniques of Automobile physical damage repairs and replacement
• Computer proficient and able to effectively navigate through various systems
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to define problems/issues, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the capability to draft claims reports
• Commitment to continuing education
• Must be customer driven
