Position: Middle Donor Advisor

Reports to: Manager, Middle Donor Program

Position Term: Full Time

The Middle Donor Advisor is responsible for cultivating and growing the customer base in the $2K-25K mark.

Supports Major Gift Philanthropy team, Planned Giving and Corporate in moving donors through the pipeline and or identifying.

Develop and nurture Middle Donor relationships by providing a best-in-class customer experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Donor Facing Activities (80%)

  • Maintain a portfolio of middle donors (2k-25K annually,) through building deep and meaningful relationships, aligning their affinities with the most appropriate World Vision products.
  • Provide an excellent customer experience for middle donors through efficient stewardship within 48 hours of gift, targeted cultivation through phone and email. Swift follow up on queries including completing drop and replace calls and project closure calls for sponsors.
  • Understand their top tier donors including their capacity, affinity, giving patterns and seek to lift their giving through a targeted customer treatment strategy (i.e. the right ask at the right time for the right product.)
  • Execute phone campaigns utilizing data insights to inform calling strategy.
  • Develop and execute moves management strategy for different types of givers within portfolio (i.e. annual givers, monthly givers, mixed givers.)
  • Work with Philanthropy Enablement team to create templates to be mailed out (e.g. introduction letters, letters accompanying impact reporting etc.) and assist with mail merges and list quality assurance.
  • Use CRM and develop CRM related processes to record every donor contact, update donor accounts as needed, run simple reports such as current donor lists.
  • 20% of Donor facing activities will focus on Prospecting, assessing potential Middle donors through discovery calls of donors passed on by Prospecting team.
Operational Tasks & Development (20 %)
  • Liaise with Supporter Operations to process donations, follow up on donor requests, make corrections to donations etc.
  • Engage in training, development and professional learning opportunities around soft skills and strong verbal communications skills in order to develop best-in-class donor conversations through the telephone.
  • Participate and receive periodic coaching sessions from recorded conversations in order to learn, adjust and develop stronger and more effective conversations and scripting, in order to grow donor engagement, loyalty and revenue.
  • Work closely with prospecting team and major gifts team and corporate team to lead the identification of donors to move up.
  • Apply knowledge of CRA and compliance requirements for financial products into planned giving discussions.
  • Attend quarterly campaign launch meetings, WV Peer Sharing and Scaling, Team Devotions, Team meetings.
Qualifications required:
  • Superior customer service and communication skills and can speak confidently and maturely about sensitive matters such as personal experience, charitable causes, financial matters.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of fundraising and/or telemarketing/sales experience in a customer-centric organization.
  • Achieved or working towards achievement of the CFRE certification.
  • Experience utilizing a Moves Management Cycle for donor development.
  • Committed to ongoing training and development to sharpen skills.
  • Good technical skills and comfortable utilizing Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel, OneNote, Skype and Teams.
  • Experience utilizing various fundraising reporting platforms (i.e., CRM, Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, AS400).
  • Can analyze data to create donor development strategies.
  • Ability to follow process, disciplined, proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales (or fundraising) performance metrics.
  • Comfortable working in a Christian environment and communicating with a variety of donors who are faith-based, non-faith-based, multicultural, etc.
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field.
