Job Summary:



As a Pharmacy Operations Lead with SpiritRx Services, you will play a key leadership role within a collaborative and high-energy pharmacy team dedicated to innovative distance-care pharmacy practices. This role is responsible for overseeing daily pharmacy operations, professional practice workflow, and team coordination to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant patient care. Guided by a care-over-commerce philosophy, the Pharmacy Operations Lead supports both clinical excellence and operational accountability while working closely with the Director of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities:



Professional Practice & Workflow Oversight:



Oversee daily pharmacy operations and professional practice workflow in compliance with College of Pharmacists of Manitoba standards and applicable legislation. Assign final check and clinical check pharmacists based on workflow demands. Serve as the primary point of contact for workflow-related questions and guidance. Maintain an active on-site presence to support timely medication delivery. Lead daily pharmacist huddles and support continuous improvement. Implement workflow changes following consultation and Director approval. Contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Leadership, Staffing & Team Development



Support hiring, onboarding, training, and development of pharmacists, technicians, assistants, interns, and students. Assign departmental lead responsibilities and support staff accountability and engagement. Conduct staff evaluations and promote a respectful workplace culture.

Scheduling & Workforce Management



Prepare and manage pharmacist and technician schedules. Approve time-off requests and coordinate payroll submissions. Support on-call coverage planning.

Safety, Compliance & Regulatory



Assign or act as Safety IQ Coordinator, QPIC, or Alternate QPIC. Ensure access to required systems including eChart and DPIN. Support audit readiness and regulatory compliance.

Emergency, Community & Business Support



Act as the first operational contact during emergencies. Maintain relationships with healthcare partners. Support community outreach and business improvement initiatives. Ensure clear and consistent communication across the pharmacy team.

Qualifications:



Completion of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy program from a recognized institution. Licensed and in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba. Demonstrated experience in pharmacy operations, workflow coordination, or leadership roles. Strong understanding of professional practice standards and regulatory compliance. Excellent leadership, communication skills, with the ability to provide remote counselling and support. Experience in Indigenous healthcare, chronic disease management, or distance-care pharmacy is an asset. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Working Condition:



Majority office hours: 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday Large Corporate Pharmacy and office environment, shipping and receiving Inclusive work environment and team culture

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $125,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
