We mainly deal with patients who require biologics/specialty medications used in the treatment of chronic medical conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, urticaria, ulcerative colitis, and many others.

At Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy, we provide patient-centric healthcare and assist patients in overcoming the challenges of specialty pharmacy. We utilize innovative strategies to deliver patients access to specialized therapy in a cost-effective, timely, and caring manner, leading to improved adherence, therapeutic success and overall well-being.

Position Summary:



Reporting to the President, the Vice President of Specialty Pharmacy Operations will be responsible for supporting the president with implementing and launch of pharmacy innovations integrated with clinic strategies and services, and driving pharmacy and clinic growth and revenues. The vice president will be responsible for timely launches of pharmacies, projects within the pharmacy, clinic staff and departments affiliated with the pharmacy and clinics. They will also be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and updating pharmacy-specific standard operating procedures and maintenance of the specialty pharmacy governance manuals. This role will entail managing and supporting healthcare professionals (s), key stakeholders, and client relations.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Responsible for driving the company to achieve and surpass profitability, cash flow, business goals, and objectives through pharmacy operational excellence Relentless in continuous improvement methodologies and practices that improve the efficiency and harmonization of all pharmacy operations Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all processes, internal and external. Provides timely, accurate, and complete reports on the operating condition of the business segment Operationalize the development, communication, and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes from one pharmacy to another. Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth of our organization. Motivate and lead a high-performance management team, attract, recruit, and retain required members of the senior operations team, and provide mentoring as a cornerstone to the management career development program. Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company Represent the segment with internal and external clients, and colleagues from across the enterprise. Working with the president, Rx Connect Staff, including but not limited to Pharmacy, Clinics, Logistics, and other internal staff members, in the strategic development and launch of projects. Improve the operational systems, processes, and polices in support of information flow and management of business processes by establishing SOPs, processes, training, and recruiting staff. Increase the effectiveness and efficiency of support services (Scheduling, IT), through improvement to each function as well as coordination and communication between support and business functions. Develop and drive business initiatives and operations for clinics and pharmacies. Liase with the scheduling, clinics, patient support programs, and pharmacy divisions, central and remote Assist in the implementation of the pharmaceutical product launches with respect to pharmacy operations across Canada. Work with external and internal clients to design, build, and implement new services Analyze and implement processes and standards within operational activities to optimize pharmacy services. Effectively and accurately communicate project information and execute processes among Rx Connect Pharmacy to ensure a high level of service to stakeholders. Leads day-to-day activities of a functional area or unit, coordinates the implementation of work group goals and objectives, and oversees day-to-day operations on projects Participating and leading project implementations, including procedures, training, KPI monitoring, etc. Coordinating and liaising with internal and external clients and consultants in the implementation of initiatives and services Applies a focused depth of technical/clinical knowledge and/or broader-based operational and management expertise Provides day-to-day pharmacy operations support as required Develop/build relationships with health care providers and patients in order to drive additional services and business opportunities. Demonstrating company values and positively contributing to the culture of the team Collaborate with Business Development and Operations to guide clinical services offered, including the implementation of new services, budgeting, and issue resolution. Establish and sustain KOL relations within the specialty industry. Improve the operational systems, processes, and policies in support of information flow and management of business processes by establishing SOPs, processes, training, and recruiting staff. Hiring and performance management of direct reports within the Pharmacy Operations Team Up to 20% of the time required for traveling within Canada. The Vice President of Specialty Pharmacy Operations will also be assigned other duties and tasks as required from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:



Successful completion of a B.Sc. Pharmacy Degree or higher Current registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists, Part A Professional liability insurance 10 to 12 years experience in Project Management, Pharmacy, and clinic operations, or related activities Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) Experience with Kroll required Knowledge of pharmaceutical technology and a comprehensive understanding or prescription medications. Willingness to adhere to regulations and guidelines governing pharmacy practice. A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace Demonstrated ability to foster relationships and collaborate with internal and external partners Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Excellent time management skills Ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently.
