We are seeking a part-time Pharmacy Compounding Lab Assistant to support the preparation of customized medications under the supervision of a pharmacist or lab technician. The successful candidate will help ensure all compounded products are prepared accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards and patient safety requirements.

Lab Assistant's Job Responsibility:
Package and label all compounded medications
Calibrate and clean all compounding equipment to ensure they are well-maintained
Clean all compounding tools after each preparation
Keep all compounding area and rooms tidy and clean daily
Maintain documentation requirements for all compounded medicine
Scan all documentations used in the formulations of all compounds
Monitor and record the environmental conditions of the compounding laboratory and all refrigerators and freezers
Improve and discuss formulation with Lead Pharmacist to find the most efficient way of compounding
Perform necessary quality control tests
Record actual yields and calculate percent yields for all compounds possible
Perform risk assessment and mitigation for drugs under the NIOSH list
Prepare simple compound formulations under the direct supervision of a lab technician
Work together with Compounding Pharmacist to ensure compounded medicine is made in the highest quality and safety
Manage and control inventory (i.e. receiving, ordering, monitoring etc)
Complete tasks assigned by the Pharmacist-in-charge and/or Compounding Pharmacist
Assist in answering phone calls if Pharmacist or Pharmacy Assistant is busy or whenever necessary

Ensure pharmacy complies with all legal requirements (Federal & Provincial) and Company's policies and procedures
Ensure all ethical and pharmaceutical care models are practiced
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED certificate
Superior interpersonal skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Computer proficiency
Strong time management and organization skills
Desire to grow and learn
Experience in compounding is an asset
