About the opportunity
Based at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, the Discovery Pharmacy (Drx) combines our research, education and innovation excellence to model and evaluate cutting-edge health service delivery. As part of the University of Toronto's interdisciplinary health care education and research ecosystem, Discovery Pharmacy will provide health care services and programs for the U of T community.
Reporting to the Pharmacist Lead, Discovery Pharmacy, the incumbent has responsibility for the day-to-day pharmacy operations, ensuring it is coordinated effectively and efficiently.
The incumbent is responsible for receiving patients incoming to DRx and the main patient facing duty is to serve as wayfinding and orientation.
Responsibilities will include:
As the successful candidate, you will be involved in the following types of activities:
Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate
Acting as a point of contact for general enquiries; answering phones
Resolving minor complaints within the scope of the role and referring larger issues when appropriate
Updating records
Identifying and retrieving missing or mismatched materials and/or information
Collecting and passing on referrals according to pharmacists' instructions
Receiving and passing on messages to appropriate contacts
Performing routine data entry
Verifying the accuracy and completeness of documents
Distributing incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries
Scanning, filing and copying documents
Following rules and procedural instructions when restocking supplies
Scheduling appointments
Confirming appointments
Processing cash, debit and/or credit card transactions
Following rules related to Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA)
Qualifications:
College Certificate or equivalent
Pharmacy Assistant Certificate/Diploma or Experience is an asset
2 years of professional pharmacy assistant in a community pharmacy setting
Experience serving clients in a fast paced, health care setting or equivalent
Demonstrated ability to prioritize a consistent and varied workload.
Kroll Pharmacy Management Software experience is an asset
