As an unlicensed member of the team, all activities performed by the Pharmacy Assistant must be either checked by a licensed Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist or individually delegated by the Chief Pharmacist. Such activities include but are not restricted to: drug distribution, distribution of narcotic and controlled substances, repackaging of medications, medication delivery, inventory receiving processes and administrative activities.

REQUIREMENTS:




Post-Secondary Certificate as a Pharmacy Assistant from a Community College Recent experience as a Pharmacy Assistant Experience with computerized pharmacy system(s), Microsoft office and internet application Experience in a hospital pharmacy preferred Understands the roles and responsibility of a Pharmacy Assistant Critical thinking skills and knowledge to identify any pharmacy related concerns and report to a Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician Planning and prioritizing skills Accuracy and attention to detail Ability to conduct interpersonal interactions, including conflict management in a professional manner Complies with Internal Responsibility Systems (IRS) with respect to Health and Safety Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and with respect in an oral and written format with patients, public, colleagues and other health disciplines Experience using computerized pharmacy system(s), Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Embodies the LEAN ideology by actively and continually seeking opportunities for continuous improvement. Must have demonstrated ability to meet the attendance standards of the Hospital Bilingualism preferred(French/English)
