Duties



Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including compounding and dispensing medications in accordance with aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Manage medication inventory, including stock intake, storage, rotation, and documentation to ensure availability and compliance with regulatory standards. Support patient care activities by accurately processing prescriptions, verifying medical terminology, and ensuring correct medication administration procedures are followed. Prepare IV infusions and other sterile products using proper aseptic techniques, adhering strictly to hospital or LTC pharmacy guidelines. Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, offering medication information, and supporting medication reconciliation processes during intake. Maintain detailed records of medication dispensing, inventory logs, and incident reports to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Collaborate with healthcare professionals across acute care settings to facilitate seamless medication delivery and patient safety initiatives. Uphold high standards of hygiene and safety protocols in all pharmacy activities, especially when handling sensitive or hazardous medications.

Experience



Prior experience working as a pharmacy technician or assistant in a hospital or LTC pharmacy setting is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures is essential for success in this role. Experience with critical care environments or acute care units will be considered an asset, highlighting your ability to adapt quickly to complex situations. Familiarity with IV infusion preparation and aseptic technique is desirable for supporting sterile medication processes. Proven ability to deliver outstanding patient service while maintaining accuracy under pressure is crucial. Previous exposure to hospital workflows, medication intake procedures, and pharmacy operations will help you excel in this energetic role.
