About the Opportunity

The Emerging and Re-Emerging Infections (ERIN) Pharmacist Team Leaders, reporting to the ERIN Clinical Pharmacy Manager and working in close collaboration with the ERIN Clinical Lead, is a key member of the ERIN Pharmacy consult service leadership team. The Team Leader serves as a professional practice expert, educator and mentor leading pharmacist-driven, evidence-informed ERIN immunization, prophylaxis, and treatment strategies for Nova Scotians supporting the translation of new evidence into clinical practice. Activities include but are not limited to: providing clinical team leadership as a practicing clinician for inpatient and/or ambulatory ERIN clients; clinical resource generation and maintenance such as developing prescribing protocols, workflow maps and infographics; planning and managing practice projects focused on quality improvement and clinical trials; completing audits related to clinical activities or clinical metrics including data management support for ERIN SharePoint, REDCap\xc2\xae and Tableau\xe2\x84\xa2, providing pharmacy team and interprofessional staff education, coordinating orientation and training for pharmacist and PPA staff, facilitating program change management and communication strategies; and participation as a core member of committees and working groups such as the ERIN Therapeutics & Prophylactics Recommendation Group, NS Outpatient COVID Therapy Working Group and the NS Immunization Transition Team.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or an entry level Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy from a CCAPP (or similar) accredited university required
  • Minimum two years\' experience in clinical practice, hospital pharmacy setting preferred
  • Completed Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program an asset
  • Additional professional certification, education and leadership training is an asset
  • Licensed to practice Pharmacy in the Province of Nova Scotia
  • Proven ability to motivate and build partnerships among varied group of health professionals
  • Experience in managing and motivating staff
  • Experience giving formal presentations
Other Relevant Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience developing and implementing innovative practice models and practice related research; mentoring and leading pharmacy team and individual practice development in both existing practice and expanded scope of practice roles for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians; pharmacy research/quality improvement projects
  • Ability to build consensus
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback
  • Strong project and change management skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to make accurate and timely recommendations regarding safe and cost-effective use of drugs
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours
  • Long Assignment / 100% FTE / 75 Hours Biweekly
  • Approximately One Year
  • Hybrid (work from home and on-site)
  • On-call, evening and weekend shifts may be required
Compensation and Incentives

$46.36 - $55.22 Hourly
