About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Clinical Pharmacy Manager and in close collaboration with the Clinical Lead for the Emerging and Re-emerging Infections Network (ERIN) working as a member of the interprofessional team leading the provision of safe, competent, person and family centered ethical care, ensuring the goals and needs of the person are prioritized and individualized. The Pharmacist Team Lead is a key member of the pharmacy leadership group supporting the Emerging and Re-emerging Infections Therapeutics and Vaccine Consult Teams. The Pharmacist Team Lead serves as a professional practice expert, educator and mentor leading evidence-informed emerging and re-emerging infection immunization, prophylaxis, and treatment strategies for Nova Scotians, translating new evidence into clinical practice. This role is focused on providing team leadership as a practicing clinician and on the generation and maintenance of clinical tools and knowledge translation resources such as prescribing protocols, workflow maps and medication/practice related infographics. This role supports planning and managing practice projects focused on quality improvement and clinical research. Additional activities include completing audits related to clinical activities, data management support required for SharePoint sites, REDCap\xc2\xae and Tableau\xe2\x84\xa2, providing pharmacy team and interprofessional staff education, coordinating orientation and training, facilitating program change management and communication strategies; and participation as a core member of committees and working groups such as the ERIN Therapeutics & Prophylactics Recommendation Group, NS Outpatient COVID Therapy Working Group and the NS Immunization Transition Team.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Graduate from a recognized university program in Pharmacy, Bachelor\'s degree in Pharmacy or entry level PharmD
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure with the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists (NSCP)
  • Completion of a hospital pharmacy residency program and/or equivalent related direct patient care experience (minimal 5 years) in a hospital setting preferred
  • Experience with direct patient care in a clinical pharmacy practice setting required
  • Experience leading and motivating staff required
  • Experience completing systematic reviews using principles of critical appraisal of scientific literature (includes knowledge of clinical trial design, methodology, appropriateness of outcome measures and biostatistics) required
  • Experience preparing evidence-based medication evaluations and knowledge transfer resources required
  • Evidence of strong communication, collaboration and team-based facilitation required
  • Experience in medical writing and creating/delivering formal presentations required
  • Experience in clinical research, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives required
  • Experience in project management and leading practice change required
  • Experience in policy, standard operating procedure and order set development required
  • Experience as an educator, preceptor and mentor required
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Incentives

$47.75 - $56.04 Hourly
