  • The Clinical Manager provides leadership in clinical, teaching, drug utilization and research activities of the Pharmacy Department at all sites.
  • The Manager works with the Director to ensure the Pharmacy services are planned and administered in accordance with accepted ethical and professional practice standards.
  • The Clinical Manager, as a team member of the hospital management team, participates in hospital-wide management activities and is accountable for clinical pharmacy service planning, implementation and integration of plans that are in alignment with the Department, Program and Corporate direction.
  • The Clinical Manager collaborates with the Program Leaders, Physician Leaders and other Managers to ensure high quality, patient and family focused services.
  • The Manager maintains a thorough and complete understanding of all duties and responsibilities of the Pharmacists and other Pharmacy Staff.
  • Monitors performance of all aspects of Pharmacy Clinical practice, including the investigation of medication incidents, discrepancies, and complaints.
  • Provides clinical leadership for medication management initiatives as well as leading practice change and stewardship of new practitioners of Pharmacy via residency, studentship or other experiential opportunities.
This is what you will need to do it:
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, Hospital Pharmacy residency preferred; Pharm D preferred.
  • Licensed under Part A of the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • Minimum 3 years of related management experience in a progressive health care setting and oriented to the specialized functions of hospital pharmacy.
  • Experience with Computerized Prescriber Order Entry (CPOE) is an asset.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various clinical disciplines.
  • Works in a self-directed manner to manage and deliver on projects.
  • Ability to motivate and coach individuals.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, negotiation and conflict management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and presentation.
