Provides pharmacist services for Kelsey Specialty Pharmacy. When present, they are responsible for achievement of customer service, clinical initiative objectives, financial objectives, and regulatory compliance. They are expected to adhere to professional practices and Kelsey-Seybold Clinic (KSC) and Kelsey Specialty Pharmacy policies and procedures, and management of assigned personnel including students and pharmacy technicians. When present, they oversee pharmacy personnel, provision of services, inventory, and overall performance. Performs all duties of a registered pharmacist including accurate dispensing and counseling of prescriptions to customers.

Education
Required: BS or Pharm D College of Pharmacy
Preferred: N/A
Experience
Required: 2-4 years of specialty or retail pharmacy experience
Preferred: 0-2 years of experience as pharmacist-in-charge preferred
Demonstrable clinical expertise in areas such as oncology and/or neurology
HMO and 3rd party managed care experience
License(s)
Required: Current Texas Pharmacy license
Preferred: Advanced Board Certification - such as BCPS, BCOP, CSP
BCLS
Pharmacy Preceptor Certification
Special Skills
Required: Operate computer terminal for processing prescriptions.

Required: Data Collection - Experience documenting required clinical and demographic data necessary to appropriately process Specialty Pharmacy Claims
Communication - able to communicate with Pharmacy Department personnel to delegate duties, inform about policies, train, assist with performance appraisals, and approve refunds/expense/returns. Must have excellent customer service skills and be able to serve as role model for excellent customer service.
Patient Counseling - Ability to engage with patients regarding their medications to educate and improve compliance with prescribe regimens
Stress Tolerance -able to make appropriate decisions and accurately process prescriptions in a high stress environment.
