A rare opportunity to work in a fun, pet friendly environment in our pet shop!

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Part-time position ~20hrs per week and

MUST

have daytime availability Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Increased weekday hours required around busy periods and major holidays. This position will require working up to 2 weekends per month. Must be friendly, professional and have a positive attitude. Reliable, punctual and able to work well under pressure.

Must have at least 5 years experience in a customer service environment

and possess competent customer service and problem solving skills. Must be able to work efficiently independently as well as collaborate as part of a team.

Must be comfortable around pets

and be confident and vigilant handling pets in close quarters with a variety of temperaments.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

Serving customers in a retail store (cash duties), answering product related questions from customers, answering the phone, receiving merchandise orders and managing inventory using store software programs. Merchandising and light cleaning duties (pet shop and staff areas). Processing online orders, taking orders over the phone, packing customer orders for deliveries and in store pick ups, managing and confirming scheduled pick ups. Assisting with treat packaging during busy times (bagging treats, labelling, etc.) and other light kitchen tasks. This is not a kitchen production role. Experience with food handling considered an asset, training will also be provided.
About Boou Bakery: We've been making pet treats since 2015. In June 2024 we expanded our pet bakery to include a brick-and-mortar location including a full retail pet shop. We are most well known for our birthday cakes and pop-ups at local markets and events in the St. John's area.
