Job Description


Bechtel is seeking an experienced Performance Manager for a large and complex rail system project in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, Canada. This position will become part of a team serving as the primary source of sound professional oversight of project delivery, the client\'s compliance with regulatory and stakeholder requirements, procurement, risk management and construction expertise and judgement in all phases of the Project works.

Position Summary:

The Performance Manager will be responsible leading the design and implementation of a Performance Management Program under which Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) will be agreed with client and form the basis for Bechtel\'s incentive regime under the contract. The Performance Manager will be responsible to work with the Program Director, Production Director, Vendor Representative and client to set annual KPIs and then be responsible to communicate and update those KPIs on a regular basis, keeping the senior leadership team informed of the progress against the stated objectives. The Performance Manager will report to the Project Controls/Production Director, and functionally to the Infrastructure GBU Manager of Prime Contracts.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Delivery Partner team in all matters related to performance management.
  • Lead preparation, and agreement with the customer, of the processes and systems that will be used on an annual basis to develop, agree, measure and assess KPIs as the basis of Bechtel\'s incentive regime under its Delivery Partner services agreement.
  • Establish systems of communication and reporting of KPIs and the Delivery Partner\'s progress in achieving the performance measures in accordance with the agreed schedule.
  • Evaluating the benefit and logistics of incorporating a form of performance measurement amongst the various project contractors and consultants.
  • Building upon the customer\'s existing programs and systems.
  • Maintain metrics and statistics around performance and report on progress at program level.
Qualifications and Skills:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Level One: Bachelor\'s Degree with 5 years of experience or, in lieu of a degree, 9 years of related work experience required.
  • Level Two: Bachelor\'s Degree with 8 years of experience or, in lieu of a degree, 12 years of related work experience required.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Preferred previous experience in developing and implementing systems to measure performance of engineering and construction projects.
  • Experience managing multi-discipline teams and working across multiple functions.
  • Excellent communication skills (English language) at multiple levels of management and client relations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
