Hybrid Job Summary: The Generalist, People & Culture works as part of the People & Culture team to develop, build, and implement HR programs and initiatives. This position is responsible for supporting leaders and employees through the disability management process related to injuries, short-term disability, and long-term disability. The Generalist, People & Culture will also provide support in recruitment and training and will be responsible for developing new People & Culture processes and other projects as needed. Archway?s Generalist, People & Culture with the People & Culture team contributes by:

  • Providing advice, support and facilitation to leadership and employees regarding disability management. This includes injuries, short-term disability, and long-term disability cases.
  • Ensuring appropriate paperwork and documentation is submitted in relation to disability management. This includes injury reporting through WorkSafeBC supporting medical documentation, coordinating applications for short-term and long-term disability and providing supporting medical documentation.
  • Ensuring tracking of disability cases is updated regularly and in a timely fashion.
  • Maintaining contact with WorkSafeBC representatives and disability management representatives to ensure case management is supportive and on-going.
  • Preparing new hire offer letters.
  • Preparing amendment letters to reflect change of status for internal employees.
  • Conducting new employee onboardings with new hires to review key policies, procedures, and following up with required paperwork.
  • Conducting new employee Orientations in collaboration with colleagues.
  • Assisting with job description updates.
  • Assisting with creating or revising job postings for hiring managers.

Getting an Interview ? you will be considered if you have:
  • Degree or Diploma with a focus on Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
  • CPHR Candidate or Designation is an asset.
  • Generalist experience in Human Resources.
  • Experience with disability management, occupational health and safety, and rehabilitation.
  • Experience in building and implementing HR processes and tools.
  • Experience in recruitment and selection.
The Job Requires you to have:
  • Experience conducting employee onboarding and orientation.
  • Experience understanding and interpreting policy.
  • Strong written, verbal, and active listening skills; able to communicate effectively and respectfully with a variety of people.
  • Strong relationship building skills; able to build effective and respectful working relationships with co-workers, managers, supervisors, staff, and external organizations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with people who have a variety of perspectives.
  • Strong planning, organizing, and time management skills; able to manage completing priorities.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Well-developed computer skills; able to use Microsoft Office 365.
  • A satisfactory criminal records check is a condition of employment.

  • Building and implementing HR processes and tools: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification:
  • CPHR Candidate or Designation is preferred (required)
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (required)
  • BC Driver's License (required)
