What this role is all about:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, People and Culture Operations, the People & Culture Co-Op Student is responsible for providing operational and administrative support to the People & Culture (P&C) team. This supports P&C processes, including onboarding, employee records management, and routine HR tasks.
This role is open to a hybrid work arrangement out of either the Kelowna, Burnaby or North Vancouver office. This role is for the duration of September 6th, 2025 to December 19th, 2025.
What you'll do:
Operational Support
Assist with the day-to-day administration of People and Culture tasks, programs, policies, and procedures.
Support the Total Rewards team with administrative tasks related to employee engagement and service programs.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in People and Culture systems and ensure compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
Onboarding & Offboarding
Coordinate onboarding processes for new hires facilitating a seamless introduction for new hires.
Support transitioning employee processes, including managing status changes, job changes, and coordinating updates with relevant departments.
Manage offboarding tasks, including updating records, completing exit documentation and coordinating system updates with relevant departments to ensure the smooth exit of departing employees.
Talent Acquisition Coordination
Coordinate recruitment activities, including drafting offer letters and conducting background checks.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Support
Assists with standardizing, centralizing, and integrating data, processes, and systems across People Operations and Talent Acquisition functions.
A little about your qualifications:
Post-secondary diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field in progress.
Familiarity with People and Culture functions such as People and Culture administration, onboarding, recruitment coordination, and employee record management and systems (HRIS).
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
Detail-oriented and thorough in handling administrative tasks.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective employee and stakeholder interaction.
Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments.
Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and environments.
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
What you'll gain:
The salary for this position is $28.00 per hour.
