About the Role

The People & Culture Lead is a key role in the People, Finance, and Ops team and works cross-functionally at MistyWest to manage top-level people strategy, talent acquisition, human resources, professional development, workplace policy, culture, community and internal events.

The People & Culture Lead has the ability to envision the full scope of people-facing activities in the organization and help chart a course for a better future through engaged leadership and strategic direction of leaders and teams at MistyWest. They will work closely with other top-level company leads and a multidisciplinary team of both technical and support roles to deliver key outcomes to assist MistyWest in achieving our long-term goals, mission & vision.

Accountabilities

The role is primarily accountable for (but does not necessarily always execute):

  • Visioning and creation of organizational-level strategies for the People, Finance & Ops team, including participating in the Anchor Circle company vision, mission and annual strategic planning cycles.
  • Creating, steering and operationalizing MistyWest's People & Culture strategies and championing those strategies across the organization and its circles.
  • Promoting MistyWest's culture internally including vision, mission and core values; including internal recognition programs to recognize and celebrate team and individual achievements & the unique contributions of all Westies.
  • Creating and oversight of MistyWest's Talent Acquisition strategy including programs, playbooks, processes and tools.
  • Championing of our Applicant Tracking System alongside our recruiter, including posting opportunities, screening applicants, communicating with applicants, defining selection criteria, leading interviews, sending job offers to selected candidates, and onboarding new Westies (or delegating these activities to appropriate support roles, as appropriate).
  • Creating and oversight of our Performance Management strategy; including Performance Development Program, staff, associated tools, processes & playbook; including but not limited to: designing development reviews, plans & processes, goal setting, pulse & engagement surveys, career pathing, & others (as required).
  • Developing and implementing our compensation strategy.
  • Developing, publishing and sharing MistyWest's corporate policies via the internal policies process; coordinating with other teams to refine existing policies, publishing final versions to sites & clarifying policy questions.
  • Capturing, analyzing and sharing learnings from data collection and analysis in order to inform organizational and HR best practices (People Analytics) and fuel data-driven decision & policymaking.
  • Ensuring we are collecting and maintaining internal HRIS personnel records including ROE's, work permits, personnel information and contracts, throughout a Westie's employment, in alignment with BC's Employment Standards Act and HR best practices.
  • Championing of Employer Brand, aka promoting MistyWest as the coolest place to work.
  • Creating and enhancing our diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy, programs and policies.
  • Performing other accountabilities as required, from time to time.
Requirements

These are the applicable education, required skills, and competencies this candidate will bring to the role.
  • 4 year Bachelor's Degree (Liberal Studies)
  • CHPR or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of previous work experience in human resources
  • 2+ years of progressive People & Culture leadership experience
  • Experience building a performance management system and implementing it through change management
  • Expert level communications skills across all mediums
  • Strong strategic perspective
  • Ability to prioritize effectively
  • Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • High level of professional discretion and knowledge of BC Employment Standards & best practices

Nice to have
  • Previous experience working at a consultancy firm
  • Familarity with using employee management/payout software, namely; Lattice PayScale, and Collage
  • Ability to champion MistyWest's internal events, workshops, Lunch & Learn
Salary

Compensation for this role will be commensurate with experience and the degree to which the candidate fulfills the various requirements of the role.

Total Cash Compensation for this role will land in the range of $74,500 - $81,500 including profit sharing and equity-based compensation.
