About the Opportunity Welch LLP is currently looking for a Payroll Clerk. This individual will be provided with the opportunity to learn how to manage your workload in a fast-paced environment and work on files in their entirety. We principally use tools like Quickbooks Online for our bookkeeping and WagePoint for our payroll workflows and generally work in a remote cloud environment. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage bi weekly payroll processing for multiple companies at a time using online or desktop accounting/payroll software
  • Manage client needs, communicating with our business owner customers via e-mail and phone and video conference calls
  • Work in a team-based environment to ensure that payroll information is properly integrated into the books and records of our clientele
  • Follow up with clients as needed to maintain accurate payroll processes
  • Work with clients to provide ad-hoc information as requested; problem solve for clients when required
  • Monthly & quarterly reporting \xe2\x80\x93 payroll, GST, HST, WSIB, EHT, etc.
  • Communicate efficiently and effectively with manager.
  • Identify new business opportunities with existing clients
  • Maintain clear documentation to allow for partner/manager or external (CRA) review efficiently.

  • College Diploma in Business Accounting, bookkeeping or related field
  • Preferably 1+ years of experience payroll
  • Working knowledge of different payroll softwares (minimum 1 software) would required
  • Knowledge of WagePoint would be a asset
  • Working knowledge of cloud accounting software, such as Dext, Plooto and QuickBooks Online would be an asset
  • Ability to stay organized and work in a fast-paced environment on multiple assignments, multiple deadlines/priorities, with a high degree of autonomy over work required
  • Working knowledge of workflow management tools would be an asset, working knowledge of Microsoft suite an asset
  • Ability to manage own client portfolio for all payroll needs for multiple clients
  • Initiative, willingness and ability to accept responsibility
  • Learning mindset; willingness and ability to ramp up quickly on new clients, new industries.
  • Ability to work under pressure, decisiveness, creativeness, good judgment, and common sense
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Strong professional communication skills required
  • Experience in different industries would be an asset
  • Strong team player. Ability to collaborate or help team when required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French would be an asset
