Our client is looking to add to their team with the addition of another Payroll Clerk!

The primary purpose of this position will be processing biweekly US payroll for employees.

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with initiative to complete a job with excellence. Ideally someone that is a self-starter, reliable and dependable.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of biweekly payroll(s) for allocated company(s); review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets; track and deduct all garnishments and other special payroll deductions, set up each employee in payroll system.
  • Responsible for the coordination efforts between payroll, HR and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data (including preparation/distribution of detailed reports.
  • Handle the administration of the electronic timekeeping system, labour departments, monitor submission of approved timesheets and ensure valid data transfers to/from payroll service.
  • Establish/maintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and on a timely basis; adherence to federal/state/local regulations.
  • Process full cycle accounting for Payroll; producing journal entries, accruals and reconciling each payroll account within the General Ledger, produce month end and year end working papers
  • Reconcile monthly benefit billings, file quarterly payroll reports and annual W2's.
  • Providing support to the Manager, Payroll & HR Canada with various projects.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Minimum Requirements:

Enrollment or course work in either Canadian or US Payroll designation program

Experience with ADP or other similar payroll programs

Experience:
  • 1-2 years of Payroll Experience.
  • Excellent skills using MS Word, Excel and Internet.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
  • Excellent problem solving /judgment skills and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
