Posted On: Jul 9, 2024Payroll and Benefits SpecialistOur client is searching for a Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join their team. This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll operations for multiple payrolls. A successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of payroll practices and compliance with all applicable employment and tax laws in Alberta.Your success will be defined by your ability to:

  • Process payroll on a bi-weekly basis for multiple companies, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations and filings including CPP, EI, and income tax
  • Administer employee benefit plan, such as group insurance, accidental death insurance, etc., including enrollment, revisions, and terminations
  • Provide support for fiscal year end reconciliation
  • Process yearly T4\xe2\x80\x99s, bonuses and other allowances for the various payrolls when applicable
  • Maintain and update payroll and benefits records, including leave of absences, departures, deductions, and other payroll-related changes
  • Coordinate with the HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless payroll integration with other company processes
  • Handle employee queries related to payroll and benefits issues and provide accurate guidance
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on payroll activities and discrepancies
  • Continuously improve processes and systems related to payroll administration
  • Provide support to the accounting department and management as required
Your strengths include:
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification is considered an asset
  • 5+ years of Payroll experience is required
  • Must be competent with computer software related to payroll and Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now is considered an asset
  • Must be able to work independently and prioritize tasks and projects as needed
  • Must be highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with high attention to detail
  • Must be able to demonstrate respectful and professional communication at all times
