Job Description


We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our team in Breslau, Ontario. This role involves managing payroll processes for both salaried and hourly employees, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, and overseeing pension and benefits administration. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate records, generating reports, and supporting the workforce with payroll and benefits inquiries.
Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain compliance with legislative requirements in payroll policies and procedures.
  • Update and manage electronic records, including new employee details, terminations, and changes.
  • Prepare payroll reports and handle garnishments, remittances, and tax authority inquiries.
  • Generate employee letters, records of employment, and year-end reconciliations such as T4s.
  • Administer and manage pension programs, including enrollment, file feeds, and legislative reporting.
  • Coordinate benefits updates, billing, and reporting using systems like Dayforce.
  • Conduct information sessions for pension and benefits enrollment, ensuring adherence to policies.
  • Support annual vacation pay allocation and payout processes.
  • Stay updated with technical knowledge and attend regular training sessions.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in payroll and benefits administration.
  • Certification in payroll compliance is required.
  • Proficient in payroll/time and attendance systems, with Dayforce experience being an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a proactive mindset.
  • Familiarity with insurance carrier portals and benefits systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a focus on confidentiality.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle large-scale payroll processes efficiently and accurately.
