Key Accountabilities
Payroll
- This is the heart of the role where we depend on you to ensure that everyone is paid accurately and on time, every time.
Responsible for full-cycle payroll (hourly, salary, commission, incentives) bi-weekly, for 350+ employees in Manitoba.
Prepare regular and ad hoc reports for internal use and external compliance.
Perform all year-end tasks, including preparation of T4s.
Work with the vendor to address issues and improve processes.
Teach employees how to use the self-service aspects of the payroll system and support managers with reports and guidance.
Group and RRSP Benefits
- This is the soul of the position, where you will ensure that benefits are accessible, well-communicated and meeting the needs of the employee group. We are counting on you to help employees access critical resources, often when they need help the most.
Employee benefit life-cycle administration.
Assist employees with claims, benefit provider issues, coverage questions.
Assist with development, communication and roll out of new benefits/plans.
Administer disability claims and oversee the Return to Work Process.
Assist with the implementation of health and wellness initiatives.
Required Skills
3 years experience with computerized payroll systems and producing payrolls for 250+ individuals. Familiarity with ADP WFN is a significant asset.
PCP certification or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Use of Excel to analyze data.
Good math skills with great attention to detail. Fundamentals of accounting would be an asset.
Demonstrated written and verbal skills in English.
Familiar with Manitoba employment legislation and other relevant payroll rules and regulations.
Experience professionally handling sensitive and confidential information.
