Job Description


:Join our client in the hotel industry, situated in Invermere, British Columbia, Canada. We are on the lookout for a remote Payroll & Benefits Administrator to manage payroll and benefits for our team, ensuring accurate and timely processing and record keeping. This role provides a long-term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the bi-weekly payroll process for our team, ensuring all payments adhere to company policies and laws
  • Maintaining and updating employee records, including changes in employment status, salary adjustments, and deductions
  • Preparing and submitting necessary payroll reports to finance and government agencies
  • Responding to and resolving payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries in a timely manner
  • Administering employee benefits programs, including health insurance, paid time off, and other perks
  • Assisting employees with benefits enrolment, changes, and claims processing
  • Working with benefits providers to manage plan renewals and resolve issues
  • Staying up-to-date with federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations related to payroll and benefits
  • Ensuring compliance with tax regulations and labor laws
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential payroll and benefits records, and ensuring proper documentation of transactions
  • Providing exceptional customer service to employees regarding payroll and benefits questions and issues
  • Collaborating with HR to support employee onboarding and offboarding processes
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Payroll and Benefits Administration
  • Proficiency in using Ceridian software for payroll and benefits management
  • Experience in managing payroll for a range of 101 - 500 employees
  • Proven ability to process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time
  • Extensive knowledge of benefits administration and compensation packages
  • Experience in managing accruals and preparing journal entries related to payroll and benefits
  • Familiarity with the hotel industry is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
