Payroll Assistant Student - (2211714)

The Opportunity: The Payroll Assistant Student position will provide you with an opportunity to work alongside experienced and talented Payroll professionals and take part in interesting and challenging work assignments. Building on classroom studies, you will develop and enhance your skills while working with mentors to kick-start a successful career in Human Resources. Key Accountabilities:

• Assign appropriate payroll personnel to emails in the payroll inbox and the system ticketing module
• Enter employee data, including new hire information, into HR Central and track missing paperwork as required
• Record employee changes in the Benefits module
• Provide necessary forms and information to the employee as required
• Assist in UKG timecard entries
• Administer HUB Allowance program
• Run pre-payroll queries before payroll is started, review and send out any corrections required to the payroll team to correct
• Respond to enquiries as required or redirect to the appropriate person
• Other administrative duties as required, including document creation and filing
• Carry out other projects as assigned

• Term length: 12 months
• Term start: January 2023
• Job location: Calgary, AB – Head Office
• Work schedule: 5 x 2, 8 HR

Skills & Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in your 1st or 2nd year of relevant degree program
• Attention to detail and analytical skills
• Strong work ethic, motivated, takes initiative and effective time management and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
