Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Support the processing and distribution of unit payroll in a timely manner.
Enter data for unit payroll and performs other administrative duties as assigned.
Help to process manual and miscellaneous checks as assigned.
Help to maintain payroll records, process properly approved payroll and record changes.
Answer and/or research payroll inquiries from employees and managers.
Daily data entry and/or reconciliation of unit payroll information.
Ad hoc projects as assigned.
Education:High School Diploma or GED required.
Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred.
Work Experience:2 to 4 years payroll processing experience in a multi-company, multi-state unionized environment required.
Experience with Kronos is preferred.
Job Skills:Ability to plan & organize work schedules, establish workload priorities and perform assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task
Strong interpersonal skills, interacts well with multiple departments as required
Knowledge of employee tax setup based on live/work jurisdictions.
Must be proficient with spreadsheets and database query skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Word.
Excellent customer service.
Detail-oriented.
Communication Skills:Effective oral and written communication skills.
Must have the ability to communicate and disclose data in an accurate manner
Must be able to communicate effectively with management team and staff.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation or working towards is desired.

Environmental Requirements:Regular office environment
This is an in person position (Monday to Friday)
