Action Electrical consists of four (4) main divisions - Project Division (Design Build/Bid), Electrical Service Division, Energy (Solar/EV) Division, and the Testing Division (Energized testing, infrared, ultrasonic, arc flash).

Action Electrical Ltd has recently acquired Big Hill Electrical Services Ltd., a family owned and operated business since 1999 in Cochrane, Alberta. We have been looking to expand our services throughout southern Alberta. However, it was imperative that, if through acquisition, it would have to be with a company that shared similar values to our company. Responsibilities:

Payroll:

Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees in compliance with provincial and federal regulations Respond to payroll-related inquiries from staff Prepare Records of Employment (ROEs) and year-end T4s Work with staff to ensure that information is entered correctly and timely in Payroll platform. Assist in maintaining information in Payroll platform

Accounts Payable:

Receive, verify, and process invoices and expense reports Prepare and process monthly cheque runs and occasional quick pays Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies Maintain AP ledger and support month-end closings Reconcile Credit Card Statements monthly Purchase items for Project Managers when required Book hotels and lodging for field staff working out of town Answer main office phone for general inquiries
Qualifications:

1-2 years of experience in Accounts Payable or Payroll processing. Construction industry experience would be an asset. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Self-driven able to work independently and motivated to accomplish tasks without specific direction Knowledge of Microsoft applications and ability to learn new software (knowledge of Accounting software would be considered an asset) Excellent problem-solving skills and a high level of attention to detail Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously Post Secondary education would be considered an asset Must be organized and have the ability to prioritize daily workload Ability to work with a team Mature work ethic with strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills Willingness to learn, be proactive and willing to find efficiencies where applicable
Compensation:

Hourly rate range - $22.00 - $27.00 actual rate will be dependent on experience and/or education

Vacation/Statutory Holiday pay of 11% (not included in the above rate)
