Additionally, employees are eligible to purchase shares in Sanjel Energy, providing employees with an opportunity to have ownership in their success.The Opportunity: Reporting to the Lead - Payroll & Benefits, the Payroll & Benefits Analyst is accountable for the administration and support of payroll and our benefits program.General Responsibilities:

  • Administer bi-weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees
  • Administer monthly payroll financial reporting; includes creating GL file, Journal Entries, Reconciliations, reviewing audit reports, correcting system errors
  • Processing Remittance reports; WCB, CRA, Provincial filings
  • Process exception entries such as: specialized bonus, premiums and allowances
  • Process ROEs, taxable benefits, new employees, promotions, position changes, retroactive calculations and terminations
  • Assist with data entry, filing and other administrative duties as needed
  • Contribute to the accuracy and integrity of the payroll function within the Company
  • Respond to employee and department enquiries as they relate to payroll and benefits
  • Provide support in HR Department initiatives, processes and programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of progressive Payroll experience
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Human Resources or related discipline
  • CPA Certification or enrolled in the Certification Program preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external contacts
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required, and advanced Excel skills are an asset
  • Experience with ADP and WorkforceNow an asset
  • Accounting experience an asset
