RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for providing functional expertise to the Payroll, Pensions and Benefits Service by analyzing and integrating business needs, implementing new/enhanced functionality or technical solutions recommending improvement to manual and automated processes and ensuring legislated and contractual obligations are met to ensure effective and efficient payroll, pensions and benefits services to employees.
  • Recommend and implement changes to improve not only the functionality of current technology in relation to Payroll, Pensions and Benefits but also to operational processes.
  • Coordinates and collaborat with ITS, Finance Services, Labour Relations, Human Resources, client departments and non-city groups in the ongoing operations that impact administration of pay, benefits and leave, and provides guidance and clarification to these groups on related Payroll, Pensions and Benefits matters
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3 year University degree in financial management or related field
  • 5+ years related experience in Business Analysis, Payroll, Information Systems Administration or Support Coordination
  • Knowledge of Project Management best practices
  • CRA related statutes and regulations at advanced level
  • Previous experience working in an environment with multiple collective agreements and unions
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel ideally in Power Business Intelligence (BI) or Power Query.
  • SAP HR

  • 1 year contract
