What you'll do



Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees in Canada and the USA using ADP, ensuring accuracy and compliance Reconcile time cards and communicate with employees and managers regarding time sheet submissions and approvals Prepare and submit Records of Employment (ROEs) as required Prepare payroll journal entries and confirm correct cost allocation Ensure compliance with provincial/state and federal payroll laws, taxes, benefits, and deductions Maintain and update employee payroll records in ADP Prepare and submit detailed payroll reports Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management in a timely and professional manner Stay current with changes in payroll legislation and best practices across all relevant jurisdictions Deliver instruction and ADP training to employees, including time sheet entry, time off requests, and pay statement access Collect and enter data into spreadsheets and the payroll system as required Assist with reconciliation of payroll-related general ledger accounts Resolve payroll processing issues as they arise Maintain payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, group benefits, and other deductions Review and process pay increases and adjustments as requested by management Liaise with government agencies for payroll-related inquiries Reconcile taxable benefits for automobiles, group benefits, and other applicable items Schedule, process, and distribute annual T4s, T4As, and W2s for all companies Reconcile and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual government remittances Assist the HR department with additional tasks as required Perform other duties as assigned

Assets



Post Secondary education in business preferred 3+ years' payroll experience (ADP Workforce Now & ADP Run an asset) Experience in multi-provincial payroll and US payroll Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently Proficient in Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
