This includes the development and maintenance of associated standards and procedures that meet the needs of patients and healthcare providers as well as the legal and administrative needs of CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB). This role serves as the patient digital navigator and support for all non-clinical MyCare patient portal and clinical applications matters. The incumbent will be a subject matter expert in clinical applications and will be a primary contact as it relates to various clinical applications.The incumbent will engage with clinical operations programs to coordinate and deliver ongoing staff education, training and support pertaining to the use and system improvements. This role will be responsible for developing training content and assessments, provide ongoing training, and manage the evaluation of efficient and effective use of the systems.Qualifications:Education

  • Post-secondary certificate or diploma in health information management, health administration, management or business administration, or related from an accredited post-secondary education institution
An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be consideredExperience
  • 3 years experience in a clinical setting with electronic health record utilization
  • 3 years experience in delivery of education and training of electronic health record & associated applications utilization to multiple healthcare disciplines
  • 3 years experience in conducting audits of electronic clinical systems and applications, and reporting on compliance, errors, and reconciliation of accounts and users within a clinical setting
  • 3 years of experience with privacy and confidentiality principles and related legislation with direct experience interpreting and applying the Manitoba Personal Health Information Act (PHIA)

  • Exceptional communication, and interpersonal skills that will enable the incumbent to facilitate training and present information at various levels within the healthcare system
  • Must be able to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with all levels of staff and physicians
  • Ability to work in several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to problem solve and think critically
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
Required Licenses, Registrations, Designations
  • Active membership in good standing with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) is considered an asset.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
  • Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings at multiple locations throughout the organization, and to lift and carry items
  • May be required to travel throughout the service area requiring a valid Manitoba driver\'s license and use of a personal motor vehicle.

  • Ability to speak French is considered an asset.
