We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, particularly in a kitchen or restaurant setting, with a focus on baking and dessert preparation. As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for creating delicious pastries, cakes, and other baked goods while ensuring adherence to food safety standards and exceptional customer service. You will be part of the nightly service and plating and executing the desserts at Graydon Hall Manor.
Responsibilities
Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Decorate cakes and pastries with creativity and attention to detail to enhance visual appeal.
Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely preparation of desserts for service.
Maintain inventory of baking supplies and communicate needs to management for restocking.
Prepare and set up the pastry station to execute service
Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests about dessert offerings and accommodating special requests.
Qualifications
Proven experience in the food industry, specifically within a kitchen or restaurant environment.
Strong skills in baking techniques and cake decorating are preferred.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
Excellent attention to detail and creativity in dessert presentation.
Strong communication skills and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including late nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
