We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pastry arts, baking, and food preparation, with a focus on creating visually appealing and delicious desserts. This role involves crafting a variety of pastries, cakes, and confections while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The Pastry Chef will also oversee the presentation, packaging, and serving of baked goods, ensuring an exceptional experience for our customers. Experience in the food industry, including catering or restaurant settings, is highly valued. As our location is still growing duties will include regular Line Cook duties such as prep and service.
Responsibilities
Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, cakes, and desserts with precision and creativity
Decorate cakes and pastries using advanced cake decorating techniques to ensure visual appeal
Package baked goods professionally for retail or catering purposes
Assist in food production and food preparation activities within the kitchen
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station in compliance with food safety standards
Handle food with care, adhering to proper food handling procedures
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods
Contribute to menu development by suggesting new pastry ideas and recipes
Support catering events by preparing specialty desserts as required
Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly used and maintained
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar culinary role within the food industry
Strong skills in cake decorating, baking, and food presentation
Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques
Experience with food production, packaging, and catering services preferred
Excellent knife skills and proficiency in culinary techniques related to pastry arts
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Previous restaurant or catering experience is highly desirable
Culinary education or pastry certification is a plus but not mandatory
Customer service skills to interact professionally with clients and team members
