PAUL French Bakery Cafe and Restaurant is looking for Experienced Pastry Chef!
Pastry Chef's are required to work in a Store or commissary.
Paul is an authentic real French pastry, bakery shop and restaurant with over 130 years of experience and over 800 stores worldwide.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned as required):
As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and preparing a wide variety of traditional and contemporary French pastries, baked goods, and desserts. You will work in a dynamic kitchen environment where creativity, precision, and teamwork are essential. Your role will include developing new recipes, ensuring high standards of food quality, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Key Responsibilities:
Production of Pastries:
Prepare a range of French pastries such as croissants, eclairs, macarons, tarts, and other baked goods.
Recipe Development:
Innovate and create new pastry recipes while preserving the authenticity of traditional French baking.
Quality Control:
Ensure all products meet our high standards of taste, appearance, and consistency.
Ingredient Management:
Source and select high-quality ingredients, manage inventory, and maintain proper stock levels.
Baking and Finishing:
Bake and decorate pastries to perfection, ensuring they are visually appealing and delicious.
Kitchen Management:
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely production.
Customer Interaction:
Occasionally interact with customers to gather feedback and promote new pastry items.
Training:
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff and assist with their development.
Problem Solving:
Address any issues that arise during production with a focus on maintaining quality and efficiency.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role, preferably in a French bakery.
Education:
Culinary degree or diploma, with specialization in pastry or baking preferred.
Skills:
Proficient in baking and pastry techniques, strong attention to detail, creative flair for design and flavor.
Knowledge:
Extensive knowledge of French pastry techniques and ingredients.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, stand for long periods, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Team Player:
Ability to work well in a team and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Problem-Solving:
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Flexibility:
Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification:
Certification in Pastry Arts or related field.
Language Skills:
Proficiency in French or familiarity with French culinary terms.
Creativity:
Demonstrated ability to create innovative and appealing pastry designs.
