Job Description
24 Carrots Bakery is a busy wholesale/retail bakery located on Kempt Rd. in Halifax. In business for over 30 years, we have an excellent reputation for producing quality baked goods, which are prepared from scratch by our professional bakers.
We have a
12-month term position
available for a full-time Baker on our Pastry Team. Preferred candidates will have completed a recognized baking program or have equivalent knowledge gained through work experience in a commercial bakery.The successful candidate will work as part of a team with our skilled bakers, producing large volumes and varieties of baked goods such as muffins, cookies, biscuits, squares, croissants, and more. This will involve preparing batters from established recipes, operating specialized baking equipment; and loading and unloading large commercial ovens.
The job requires the ability to read, write, and speak English; to work standing; to lift 20 kg; and to work in the heat, particularly during the summer.
Shifts begin at 7:00 AM, earlier on Saturdays if required. Sundays off.
Wage is commensurate with education and experience.
